Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This position reports to the First Report Unit Supervisor and is responsible for the following:
As the policyholder's first point of contact after an auto or homeowner loss, takes reports of accidents. All information is obtained via telephone conversation and is then input in to a proprietary system. Scripts are utilized to develop necessary information.
Works a varied part-time schedule (20-24 hrs/wk), in accordance with the needs of the unit. Must be available for nights and weekends. Some requirement for additional hours when volume spikes.
Must possess keyboard and PC skills.
Customer service skills required. Must remain calm, polite and empathetic. May need to make decision to re-route claim, or to alert claim office of report of serious injury or major loss
Ability to work in a team environment is a must. Requires high energy and willingness to learn additional job duties
Education and Job Experience:
High school diploma; Some customer service experience.
